Today was my 1 year check up, since my last checkup. The x-ray looked good and everything was ok. I am to return in another year. One change in protocol is that I must take antibiotics before dental work for the rest of my life, instead of just the first 2 years.
Check this site for hip hardware recalls: Drug Watch. This recall does not apply to me, I had a total hip replacement, not 'resurfacing'.

  1. hi
my name is Gary and im from England. Im 43 years old and had a total uncemented hip replacement about 2 months ago. i have AVN and have to have my other hip replaced too in the near future. Ive had a really hard time including one very very painful dislocation since surgery. I currently have to wear a hip brace 24 hours a day to support my hip. Its been the hardest time of my life and is still very hard. Your blog has given me hope that things will get better and my mobility will eventually return. Thank you for your blog and i wish you all the best for the future
